The Maldives on Friday registered 80 new cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 77 new cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region while 3 cases were detected in the atolls. The new positive cases are of 60 locals and 20 foreigners, raising the total number of cases to 8,361.
HPA also announced 159 recoveries on Friday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,642. While 2,684 cases are active, 162 patients have been hospitalised. 29 deaths have been recorded to date.
