President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday established the 'Regional Airports Company Limited' under a Presidential decree. The company will be fully owned by the Government and is intended to oversee the operations of regional airports developed by the Government. The newly established company will ensure that regional airports are operated in an efficient and sustainable basis.
Regional airports have been overseen by a department at the Transport Authority until now. 16 regional airports are operated across Maldives In addition to the country’s main international airport, Velana International Airport.
