Bridge linking Phase I, II of Hulhumale' opened to public

A bridge linking Phase I and Phase II of reclaimed suburbs Hulhumale’ has been opened to the public.

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) said the bridge was opened to address difficulties in entering and exiting the area in which new residential buildings are located in Phase II, as the buildings are already in use.

HDC said although the bridge and some areas near the bridge have been opened to the public, HDC’s permission will still be required to access other parts of Phase II. The corporation also requested those using the beach area of Phase II to adhere to the regulations in place.

240 hectares of land were reclaimed in Hulhumale in 2017 to develop the second phase of the suburbs. While four bridges linking the two phases are currently in development, special lanes will be assigned for vehicles and pedestrians.
