Russian leisure airline Nordwind to begin operation to Maldives

Russian leisure airline, Nordwind will be commencing direct flight operation to the Maldives. The airline will begin the service on October 28.

Managing Director of Inner Maldives, Mohamed Firaq said two weekly flights will operate between Russia and Maldives on every Tuesday and Friday. This is the second Russian airline to begin operation to Maldives since the tourism-dependent archipelago reopened its borders earlier in July. Flag carrier of Russian Federation, Aeroflot operates four scheduled flights to the Maldives every week.

Russia is one of the most popular markets for Maldives’ tourism. 74,000 tourists from Russia visited the Maldives in 2019.
