Latest COVID-19 stats: 30 new cases, tally at 11,421

The Maldives on Saturday recorded 30 positive cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,355 samples were tested on Saturday, out of which 30 samples came back positive.

According to HPA, 23 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and seven cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 18 are locals and 12 are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 11,421.

While 905 cases are currently active in 21 islands and 23 resorts across Maldives, 37 deaths have been recorded to date. Besides capital Male’, the only island currently on HPA monitoring is Kulhudhuffushi City.
