Daily stats: Tally crosses 11,800 with 26 new cases

The Maldives on Wednesday recorded 26 positive cases of COVID-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,130 samples were tested on Wednesday, out of which 26 samples came back positive.

According to HPA, 21 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and five cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 21 are locals and the rest are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date has now crossed 11,800 and tallies at 11,822.

While 786 cases are currently active across 18 islands and 30 resorts, 38 deaths have been recorded to date. 52 patients are currently hospitalised while two are being treated in the ICU.
