The Maldives on Wednesday recorded 29 positive cases of COVID-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said 1,176 samples were tested on Monday, out of which 29 samples came back positive.
According to HPA, 22 cases were identified in the Greater Male' Region and the remaining seven cases were identified in the atolls. Out of these, 17 are locals and the rest are foreigners. The total number of positive cases recorded to date is now at 12,059.
While 812 cases are currently active across 11 islands and 27 resorts, 41 deaths have been recorded to date, with the most recent death registered on Tuesday. 49 patients are currently hospitalised while two are being treated in the ICU.
