The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is seeking to dismiss Gn. Fuvahmulah Court’s Magistrate, Mulha Ali. The decision to forward the issue of the dismissal to the parliament was made at JSC’s sitting held Tuesday.
According to JSC, allegations that Mulha meets with defence attorneys in private, and that of inappropriate relations between the magistrate and parties involved in cases were investigated by the commission. The magistrate is also accused of tampering with evidence in an investigation involving a family member of the magistrate. It is also believed the magistrate attempted to exert influence on court officials handling the case.
