Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali has revealed that construction of four schools in the Second Phase of Hulhumale’ will kick off before the end of the year. The minister made the statement while speaking on a program aired by local channel, RaajjeTV.
Speaking during the program, Minister Aishath Ali said MVR 3 billion has been allocated for the education sector in the proposed budget for the upcoming year. Several plans have been made for next year for the betterment of the education sector, said the minister. The budget will be utilized for efforts to change the schools of the Greater Male' Area to single-session institutions, in addition to some schools that follow a multi-session arrangement. Over 105 PSIP will be carried out for the purpose, she added.
Revealing that the construction of schools in Hulhumale' Phase II will kick off this year, the minister also noted that the construction of Dharumavantha School is ongoing at a fast pace. The budget for the upcoming year also includes funds to establish schools and educational institutes in five areas of the country, said the minister.
