Spike in positive COVID-19 cases; 94 new cases recorded

The Maldives recorded 94 positive cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hour, raising the country’s tally to 12,546.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said out of the 1,678 tests conducted during the period, 49 positive cases were identified in the Greater Male’ Region. 35 cases were registered in the atolls. While 38 cases are of locals, 56 cases were of foreigners.

The Maldives has recorded 11,497 recoveries and 45 deaths until now. 997 cases are active across 15 islands and 29 resorts, and 80 people are currently hospitalized.
