Three journalists from AVAS Online have won awards in prominent categories in the ‘Journalism Award Ceremony 2019’ hosted by the Maldives Media Council (MMC).
54 journalists vied for awards given in 13 different categories in this years’ awards. The three categories bagged by AVAS journalists are the Politics category, Business and Economics category, and Environment and Sustainable Development category.
AVAS Online’s business editor, Mohamed Afrah won the Business and Economics category. While Afrah has competed for the award three times, he has won the award two out of the three times.
The Politics Category was won by AVAS Online’s associated editor, Visham Mohamed. The Environment and Sustainable Development category was won by AVAS journalist, Ayesha Eeman.
