May/June A' level examinations will not be held this year: Ministry

The May/June A’level examinations will not be held in the Maldives this year.

The Education Ministry said the A’level examination will not be held as per schedule this year. The arrangements for assessing the students sitting for the May/June examination will be announced by the UK’s Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) on February 22, said the ministry.

However, the examination scheduled for the October/November schedule will take place as scheduled, said the ministry. The decision will not affect the application procedures carried out by the Department of Public Examination for the AS/A’ Level examination.

The Education Ministry has instructed schools and students to continue exam preparations as usual. The ministry said discussions are ongoing with EdExcel to find ways to assess the students who were to participate in the exams. The opinion of schools and students will be sought on the matter, said the ministry.
