COVID-19: HPA begins vaccinating those above the 55 years of age

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has started COVID-19 vaccination for those above the age of 55 years.

The Maldives began its COVID-19 vaccination drive last Monday. 4,269 people have received the vaccine thus far, including front line workers.

HPA on Saturday began vaccination for the above-55 age group in the Greater Male’ Area. Those in the age group have been asked to report to the Social Centre in Malee’, Hulhumale’ Vaccine Centre and Vilimale’ Youth Centre. Vaccine administration will take place between 9:00 am to 05:00 pm every day.

Those coming to the centres to recieve the vaccine are asked to bring their ID cards and the details of any medication they are on, and a water bottle. It is advised to dress in loose clothes and to have a meal before coming in to recieve the vaccine. Those recieving the vaccine must not have any symptoms of COVID-19 and should not be in quarantine.
