Permits to be issued to taxi centres

Maldives Police Services have stated that permits that can be used during the vehicle ban duration will be issued to taxi and pickup centres.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced a 6pm to 6am vehicle ban in the Greater Male’ Region due to a spike in COVID-19 infections in the area.

All vehicles must meet the guidelines set by HPA, and the police will be checking taxis to ensure it meets the required safety standards. Permits issued to taxis that do not meet the guidelines will be revoked.
