The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) has stated that 100,000 additional doses of the COVISHIELD have been received.

The Maldives kicked off its COVID-19 vaccination campaign on February 1st, after India donated 100,000 doses of the COVISHIELD vaccine. Since then, over 105,000 people have received the vaccine’s first dose.

The government of India later donated additional 100,000 doses of the vaccine. The donation was announced on February 20th during India’s External Affairs Minister, Subramanian JaiShankar’s recent visit to the Maldives.
