Dhevvadhoo island is back under the Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s monitoring status.
HPA said the island is under its monitoring status as the agency is investigating COVID-19 related matters linked to the island. Entry and exit from the island has been restricted.
A person completing quarantine in Dhevvadhoo recently tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Health Emergency Operation Centre, the person had been in contact with several people during his time in quarantine.
While Dhevvadhoo was previously under HPA’s monitoring for over a month, 85 people tested positive from the island at that time. Seven people linked to the initial cluster were identified from neighbouring Dhaandhoo, as well as four from L. Fonadhoo, two from Hulhumale’ and two from Villingili.
