Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Monday provided an update on the progress of the construction of Th. Guraidhoo harbor.
MTCC said work on design and build of Th. Guraidhoo Harbor is well underway, with overall 40% project progress. The installation of precast concrete blocks required for quay wall construction has been completed, said MTCC.
The government contracted the harbor construction project of Th. Guraidhoo to MTCC in October 2019. The Guraidhoo harbor project consist of construction of a breakwater along with a channel breakwater, channel dredging and harbor dredging, 370-meter quay wall and a concrete walkway bridge, installing drainage in quay wall and a construction of a 5-meter pavement. The agreement also consists of construction of a ramp, installation of 15 mooring buoys, two navigation lights and 18 harbor lights.
The total cost of this project is MVR 46,015,831.72.
