Opposition mayoral candidate and former Housing Minister, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu presented himself to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday.
Speaking to AVAS after attending the session at ACC, Muizzu said he was asked regarding an agreement signed between Strada Pvt. Ltd and the former administration to develop a bridge viewing platform.
Muizzu said while no details regarding the accusations against him have been shared, he will be attending a questioning session at ACC tomorrow morning, and that an attorney will be accompanying him.
Muizzu said he was summoned by ACC for political motives under the government’s influence. While he is not aware of the government’s motives, the reality is that the government wishes to obstruct his chances in the upcoming local council election, said Muizzu.
