No complaints that could affect outcome of election: EC

The Elections Commission has stated that it received no major complaints that could affect the outcome of Saturday's Local Council and Women's Development Committee Elections.

President of the Commission, Ahmed Shareef Adam said it received a few complaints regarding the election. The complaints received by the commission are mainly regarding campaigning after-hours and a complaint that Speaker of the Parliament and former president Mohamed Nasheed had accompanied some candidates to vote centers, as well complaints regarding a statement made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih regarding the probable outcome of the election, said Shareef.

While the complaints will be duly addressed, they are not serious enough to affect the outcome of the election, said Shareef.
