The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated that the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines will be administered only at TreeTop Hospital in reclaimed suburbs Hulhumale' during the month of Ramadan.
The Maldives commenced its COVID-19 vaccine program on February 1st, and is currently on its second round of vaccine administration. While AstraZeneca's COVISHIELD vaccine manufactured in India was used during the first round, China's Sinopharm vaccine is being used in the second round.
HPA on Monday said vaccine administration will be carried out from 9pm until 11pm during Ramadan. Vaccine administration will take place at seven centers, and the second dose of the COVISHIELD vaccine will be administered at six of the centers. The first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine will be administered only at Treetop Hospital.
All vaccine centers will be closed on Tuesday as the date marks the 1st of Ramadan.
