The Health Protection Agency (HPA) will commence administering the second dose of China's Sinopharm vaccine on Tuesday.
The Maldives began its second round of COVID-19 vaccination program using the Sinopharm vaccine on March 22. Those who received the vaccine during the first week of vaccine administration are now eligible to receive the second dose as four weeks has passed since the first dose was given.
HPA said the second dose will be given from two vaccine centers. They are Tree Top Hospital in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' and the People's Majlis Building in Male'.
Vaccine will be given at Tree Top from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm and from 08:30 pm until 11:00 pm. Vaccine will be given in the morning hours to those who are not fasting only. Shots will be administered at the People's Majlis Building from 9:00pm until 11:30 pm.
The Maldives has approved three vaccines thus far. They are COVISHIELD, Sinopharm and the Pfizer vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is being administered to those on long term medication for chronic disease only.
