The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said it would resume administration of the Sinopharm vaccine's second dose from Wednesday.
HPA temporarily suspended the administration of COVID-19 vaccines for the Eid holidays. The authority on Tuesday said those who have received the first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine can receive the second dose if three weeks have passed since they received the initial jab, starting Wednesday. HPA said the shot will be administered only at Senahiya Military Hospital between 9 am and 11 am.
The Sinopharm vaccine is manufactured by China's Beijing Institute of Biological Products. China has donated 200,000 doses of the vaccine to the Maldives and will be donating further 300,000 doses. The Maldives began administrating the Sinopharm shot on March 22.
