Travel restrictions on Huraa lifted after a month

Travel restrictions on K. Huraa has been lifted after a month.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) activated its monitoring mechanisms on Huraa, restricting entry and exit from the island on March 23rd after COVID-19 cases were identified on the island. The first person to test positive from Huraa was an individual who traveled to R. Ungoofaaru. The virus spread on the island rapidly after that and strict measures were put in place to control the outbreak.

Huraa recorded a total of 175 positive cases out of which 161 people have since recovered. 14 cases are active on the island.
