Tourists' average stay at Maldives at 9 days

The Tourism Ministry has stated that tourists who visit the Maldives stay an average of nine days.

Statistics published by the ministry show the average-stay of holidaymakers was at 9.2 in January this year. However, it fell to 8.8 days in February, and declined further to 8.7 in March. However, it increased to 9.3 in April, keeping the average stay at 9 by April 26.

Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has previously stated that the government is working to facilitate longer stays for tourists by bringing amendments to the Immigration law. He has also spoken regarding the government's plans to introduce 'Vaccine Tourism' in the Maldives.

According to statistics, an average of 3,273 tourists visit the Maldives daily. The government hopes to host 1.5 million tourists this year.
