The Maldives on Saturday recorded an additional COVID-19 death.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), a 39-year old Bangladeshi national receiving treatment at main government hospital, Dharumavantha Hospital's ICU passed away on Saturday night. This is the 74th COVID-19 death recorded in the Maldives, and the 22nd death of the year. Five deaths were recorded last month.
The number of COVID-19 cases and deaths have been increasing in the Maldives over the past few days. The Maldives has recorded over 400 daily cases for three consecutive days.
