Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has provided an update on the progress of the N. Kudafari Water and Sewerage Project.
MWSC was contracted with designing and building the basis for the construction of water supply and sewerage facilities in Kudafari in September 2019. Under this agreement, two RO plants and three storage tanks have to be established and sea outfall has to be constructed. The project also include the construction of an office building and connecting housing units to water facilities. The total cost of the project is MVR 38,245,917.74 and is expected to be completed within 22 months.
According to MWSC, the project has reached overall completion of 31 percent. While 58 percent of the RO Building work and 50 percent of the sewerage network has reached completion, 93 percent of the water network has also been completed. Additionally, 44 percent of the pumping station work has been completed. MWC said in addition to the installation of RO plants and water tanks, water connection services will be provided to 169 households as well as installation of water meters.
