An individual from HDh. Neykurendhoo has been fined for violating quarantine rules.
According to the police, a fine of MVR 11,000 was levied on the man for being out in public during his quarantine period. An additional MVR 1,000 was also imposed for failing to wear a mask when he was outside.
Previously, a couple from Ga. Villingili who went to court to get married while in quarantine was also fined MVR 10,000 per person for breaking quarantine rules.
Although COVID-19 cases in the Maldives were mostly reported from capital Male' in the past, a large number of cases are now being reported from the atolls. While 30 cases were reported from Male' City over the past 24 hours, 101 cases were reported from the atolls.
