Tourism Ministry seeks consultants to draft 5th Tourism Master Plan

The Tourism Ministry is seeking consultants to draft the 5th Tourism Master Plan.

The Tourism Ministry said the new master plan is a strategic five-year plan developed by the ministry to promote sustainable development in the tourism sector. The project is funded under a grant issued by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). A team of 10 consultants will be hired by ADB to work on the project, out of which 9 consultants will be Maldivians. The lead consultant will be hired as per the International Consultancy policies. Those interested in working as consultants may submit their applications to the ministry by July 5.

The Tourism Ministry is seeking consultants for the following areas:

Environmental consultant
Human resource development consultant
Socio-cultural development consultant
Tourism marketing, product development, and innovation consultant
Marine and liveaboards consultant
Tourism Strategy Specialist (Lead consultant)
Legal consultant
Tourism business development and economic planning consultant
Tourism policy consultant
Tourism security consultant

The government launched the 5th Tourism Master Plan in 2019 during former Tourism Minister Ali Waheed's ministership. The 4th Masterplan was inaugurated in 2013.
