Main government hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) will resume its OPD services starting Sunday.
The hospital temporarily suspended OPD consultations, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy services following a recent surge in COVID-19 infections. The services of its Mental Health Department were also switched online due to COVID-19.
The hospital said OPD services and therapy services will resume from Sunday onward. Speech therapy services, and services provided by the hospital's radiology department and laboratory will also resume, said the hospital. Additionally, the performance of scheduled surgeries will also resume, as well as procedures such as TMT, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy services.
The Maldives has recorded 74,074 positive cases of COVID-19 to date. The country has recorded 213 COVID-19 related fatalities to date.
