Foreign Minister in India on official visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid Wednesday departed to New Delhi, India on an official visit. He is making the visit in his capacity as President-elect of the seventy-sixth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the visit, Minister Shahid will call on the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, and meet with the Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar. Foreign Secretary of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla will also host the Minister.

The Foreign Ministry said Minister Shahid will deliver the 38th Sapru House Lecture at the Indian Council of World Affairs on the topic “Presidency of Hope 76th UNGA: COVID Pandemic and the need for reformed multilateralism, On 23 July 2021.

Minister Shahid is accompanied by Honourable Member of Parliament Hussain Shaheem, and Joint Secretary Mariyam Midhfa Naeem from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
