Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid arrived in India on Wednesday to attend the Raisina Dialogue Conference.
The conference is held in collaboration with the Observatory Research Foundation in New Delhi, and will begin on Thursday.
Minister Shahid is scheduled to meet several senior Indian government officials during his visit.
India has been a close partner of the Maldives and has provided a lot of assistance to the Maldives during Minister Shahid's tenure as Foreign Minister. Many of the development projects currently underway in the Maldives are funded through loan assistance from India.
The Raisina Dialogue is a multilateral conference held annually in India. Since its inception in 2016, the conference has emerged as India's flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics.
