President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih Tuesday appointed Anas Abdul Sattar as the Minister of State for Finance. President Solih presented Anas Abdul Sattar with his letter of appointment at a special ceremony held Tuesday afternoon, at the President’s Office.
Anas Abdul Sattar attained his Bachelor of Laws L.L.B. (Hons.) Shari’ah & Law from the International Islamic University, in Islamabad, Pakistan. He served as a Managing Partner at Vakaalaath Chambers LLP from January 2010 to present, and had also been appointed as the Secretary-General of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) from 2015 to 2020.
Anas Abdul Sattar had represented several state institutions as legal counsel, including Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Male’ City Council, Maldives Broadcasting Commission and Addu International Airport. He was also elected as an Executive Committee Member to the Maldives Bar Council for two years, from July 2019 to June 2021.
