MWSC begins work on Sh. Goidhoo Water and Sewerage Project

Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has said the physical works of Sh. Goidhoo Water and Sewerage Project are in progress.

MWSC Tuesday said the construction of the RO facility building is underway in Goidhoo. Pipes and other materials and equipment needed for the project have already been transported to Goidhoo, MWSC said.

Sh. Goidhoo water and sanitation project was contracted over to MWSC at an estimated project cost of MVR 86.04 million in November 2020. The work is to be completed within 540 days. A 12.07 km pipe network will be established in Goidhoo under the project. The scope of the project also include the construction of an RO Facility building, installation of two RO plants and installation of three water storage tanks.

Additionally, a 7.30 km sewerage network will be established under the sewerage component of the project, and a 1.48 km pumping line will be laid. The construction of an administrative building, three pumping stations as well as one sea outflow is also included under the project. Quality testing equipment, vehicles, and generator sets required for the operation of the water and sewerage system will be arranged.
