Manta Air expands fleet with additional seaplane

Manta Air has added an additional seaplane to its fleet.

The new seaplane arrived at Velana International Airport from Canada on Sunday evening. Such journeys take approximately a week. According to Manta Air, the plane's wheels will need to be replaced with floaters and water rudders before use. The new addition increases Manta’s fleet to a total of eight seaplanes.

Manta Air commenced seaplane operations almost two years ago during November 2019. The latest airline to join the seaplane operations in Maldives, Manta Air currently uses seven seaplanes for domestic flights across the isles of Maldives. In addition to the seaplanes, Manta Air also operates three ATR 72-600 aircrafts for domestic flights.
