A man was attacked near Presidential palace, 'Muleeaage' in capital Male' on Friday.
According to Maldives Police Service, the police received reports of the incident around 8 pm. While one - a local male- was injured during the altercation, he was taken to state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment, the police said.
The police said they are investigating the case. No further details were provided.
Photos on social media show a man lying on the road in front of the 'Medhu Ziyaaraiy' shrine. A motorcycle, believed to be the vehicle the injured man was riding, is also seen in the photos. MNDF security officers are also seen on the scene.
