The curfew implemented in Addu City has been extended by another week.
According to Addu City Council, the curfew duration was further extended due to the current COVID-19 situation in the southernmost atoll. In addition to the curfew, other measures which were implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19 will also be maintained.
The curfew in Addu City is from 09:00 pm until 04:00 am. Shops, cafes and restaurants are prohibited from providing in-house services during curfew hours, but may provide delivery services until 12:00 am after obtaining a special delivery permit.
Addu City has recorded 1237 positive cases to date, out of which 224 cases are active. Four people are currently hospitalized. Three COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in the city.
