Satellite schools to be opened in three islands mid-Oct

The satellite schools being constructed in three islands will open on October 24.

Satellite schools are being established in B. Fehendhoo, V. Rakeedhoo and V. Thinadhoo.

The satellite school in Fehendhoo is being developed by KD Enterprises, and schools are being developed in Rakeedhoo and Thinadhoo by Asbro Maldives Pvt. Ltd. The government is spending MVR 1 million on Fehendhoo and Thinadhoo School, and MVR 2 million on Rakeedhoo School.

Satellite schools are being established in islands that have a very less number of students, or do not have schools. The Education Ministry said students who wish to enroll in the satellite schools may register before October 14. The ministry said teachers and all necessary resources will be available at the schools when it opens. The ministry is coordinating with schools in nearby islands to make arrangements for the students to participate in extra-curricular activities.
