Over 200 families move into Hiyaa apartments

Over 200 families have moved into social housing units under the 'Hiyaa' housing scheme.

Speaking to AVAS, Housing Development Corporation (HDC)'s media official said over 200 families have moved into their apartments in Hulhumale' Phase II, and more families are preparing to move in over the next few days.

The official said 6,455 apartments have been allocated for recipients, out of which the agreement signing invitation has been extended for 6,215 units. Apartments are yet to be allocated for 265 recipients and 17 names have been forwarded to the ministry for allocation. 6,084 apartments have already been handed over to its recipients, he said.

6,872 apartments are allocated from 16 25-storey towers in Hulhumale' Phase II. Ten towers have 392 apartments each, while the remaining six towers have 492 apartments each. The monthly rent for the two-bedroom apartments is MVR 7,500, with an additional management fee of MVR 1,000.
