A 59-year-old man fishing at a jetty fell into the sea due to strong wind, and passed away on Monday mornng.
The police said the man was fishing on the outer rock wall near Izzuddin Jetty in Male' City. The man was flung into the sea due to strong winds, and the police received reports of the incident at 6:00 am. The man had already passed away by the time he was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Several tragic incidents have occurred due to adverse weather conditions over the past few days. On Saturday, passengers traveling in a speedboat were flung into the sea after the boat hit a massive wave, and a 33-year-old woman died in the incident. Her four-year-old child is still missing at sea.
