An officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Mohamed Zidan, has passed away following a shark attack during a training exercise.
Zidan, from R. Ungoofaaru, had joined the army approximately a year ago. He was attacked while training in the waters of L. Kadhdhoo. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was treated in the Intensive Care Unit of L. Gan Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
