Sri Lankan Airlines to resume Addu operations in December

Sri Lankan Airlines will resume flights to southernmost Addu City in December, the airline has said.

Sri Lankan airlines halted its operations to Gan International Airport in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. After a hiatus of more than one year, the airline is preparing to resume the flights on December 4.

Although Sri Lankan Airlines had hoped to resume operation to the Gan airport on November 2, the date was moved back due to unforeseen circumstances, the airline's Maldivian agent, Ace Aviation, has said.

The national airline, Maldivian, will be offering domestic connectivity services at Gan Airport to coincide with Sri Lankan Airlines' flights. Those traveling to Gan International Airport will have the opportunity to travel to Huvadhoo and Male' via Maldivian.

Sri Lankan Airlines first commenced international flights to Sri Lanka on December 1, 2016.
