Pres Solih meets with Nasheed's lawyer

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Friday met with Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed's lawyer, Kirsty Brimelow.

During the meeting, the two discussed the May 6 terror attack that targeted Nasheed. In a tweet posted following the meeting, Brimelow said discussions concerning acts of terrorism against the people of the Maldives and Nasheed, and the assassination attempt on Nasheed took place during the meeting.

Nasheed hired Brimelow as his lawyer during his stay in the United Kingdom following the May 6 attack. Since her appointment, the Doughty Street Chamber London lawyer has been closely following the progress of the May 6 attack investigation as Nasheed's legal representative. She recently met with the main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s committee convened to investigate the May 6 attack.

Brimelow is a well-known human rights lawyer.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed his own representative to oversee the progress of the May 6 attack - Abbas Faiz, a UK national.
