Expat who urinated inside mosque remanded for seven days

An expatriate who urinated inside a mosque has been remanded in custody for seven days.

The police said the Bangladeshi national was arrested around 7:58 pm on Sunday for urinating on Jalaluddin mosque grounds. He was taken to court to decide on his remand, and the judges ordered for him to be detained for seven days.

Cases of disrespecting mosques have been occurring more frequently in recent days. A local man who urinated inside a mosque was recently arrested and was released after his remand ended. Upon his release, the man revisited a mosque and spat on a Holy Quran, following which he was arrested once again.
