HDC resumes survey on Hiyaa flats

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has resumed its survey on the Hiyaa flats developed at Hulhumale Phase II.

HDC paused their survey on the flats when some residents in the area obstructed HDC staff conducting the study and attempted to harm them.

HDC said the survey aims to make the lives of Hiyaa flat tenants better and that the corporation would lodge complaints at relevant authorities on those who obstruct the survey. The survey will be conducted until next Saturday, from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm every day.

Information on Hiyaa flat tenants will be collected during the survey, in addition to data on how much tenants are familiar with the regulations and follow them will also be assessed. The survey will also seek feedback on the services offered by HDC.

Over 500 families have already moved into the 7,000 flats in the Hiyaa towers. Some have complained of the lack of services available in the area while others are unhappy with the services already offered. Many are disappointed that garbage disposal services are not organized and that the safety and security are not monitored effectively.
