The newly registered political party, Maldives National Party (MNP) 's membership has crossed 10,000. The party's leader, Mohamed Nazim, made the announcement in a tweet posted on Wednesday.
MNP set out to increase its membership to 10,000 before the end of the year, and held campaigns to recruit more members to the party. In his tweet, Nazim thanked all party members who worked to increase its membership and said the party's future is bright.
The Elections Commission gave permission to form MNP as a political party in July this year. The party was officially registered as a political party on October 25. They completed their registration process and attained 10,000 members at record speed.
