Official statistics have shown that the most number of tourists visited the Maldives this year on December 5.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday, the Tourism Ministry said the record for the most number of tourist arrivals since border re-opening was broken on December 5, with 6269 arrivals. The previous record was 6,197 arrivals on October 16 this year.
While over 1.2 million tourists have visited the Maldives this year thus far, the most number of tourists visited the Maldives in November, with 144,725 arrivals.
