Additional arrest made in connection to nurse's death

An additional arrest has been made in connection to the death of a Filipino nurse working in the Maldives.

Mary Grace's death was reported to the police as suicide by her husband, Marvin. The police started investigating the nurse's death on October 19 after flagging suspicions related to her death. Marvin, who is also a registered nurse working at IGMH, was arrested the following day and remains in custody.

The police on Thursday said a 24-year-old Maldivian female had been arrested in connection to the case. It has been reported that the woman who was arrested is Mary's husband, Marvin's lover.

Mary Grace's body was sent to India to conduct a post mortem, which ruled out suicide as a cause of death. The police said it is more likely that she was hit with an object or received an extensive injury at the hands of another person.

Mary Grace and her husband have a five-year-old child.
