Seatbelts will be mandatory for drivers and front-seat passengers riding in four-wheeled vehicles, effective from January 1, 2022.
In an announcement published in the gazette, the Transport Ministry reminded that as per article 19 of the land vehicle regulations, drivers and front-seat passengers of vehicles on roads where speeds of over 30 kilometers per hour are allowed, will be required to wear seatbelts from January 1.
The ministry advised all parties to adhere to the new regulations.
