The maintenance and servicing of the lifts installed at the Hiyaa towers have been contracted to Contech Private Limited.
Hulhumale Development Corporation (HDC) said Contech's services would be available around the clock and that a hotline number had been established to inform of any issues with the lifts. The hotline number is 9872969.
HDC said the corporation aims to resolve issues residents face in Hulhumale Phase II to ensure they do not face any difficulty. The company urged the public to use the lifts according to the correct regulation and policies.
Several families have moved into the social housing units in the Hiyaa towers. HDC granted a grace period of three months for flat recipients to complete finishing works in the apartments. While the period is set to expire in January, several apartments still remain incomplete. From January onward, flat recipients will have to pay a monthly rent of MVR 7,500 on top of MVR 1,000 charged as a maintenance fee. Flat owners are appealing to the government to lower the rent to MVR 5,600 and extend the grace period.
