Seven people were arrested at Thursday's 'India Out' rally held by the opposing Progressive Congress Coalition.
The opposition has been holding serial rallies in front of their office in capital Male', calling to remove Indian military personnel stationed in the Maldives.
The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)'s Spokesperson Heena Waleed told AVAS that seven participants were arrested during Thursday's rally. Deputy Mayor of Male' City Council Ahmed Nareesh and Councilmember Ahmed Aifan were among those detained by the police.
The police arrested seven people during Wednesday's rally for obstruction of justice. They were released later the same night.
